Law enforcement busts illegal rave in abandoned NYC warehouse

The NYPD and city Sheriff’s deputies busted up an illegal rave early Saturday in an abandoned Queens warehouse where 142 people were caught drinking and dancing without masks on.

The COVID-19 restrictions-defying party was raided at 1:40 a.m. at 11-33 Irving Ave. in Flushing, authorities said.

The warehouse — a boarded-up, graffiti-covered hulk by day — had been lit with colored floodlights and was filled with pricey sound system gear and half-drunk bottles, according to post-raid photos supplied by the Sheriff’s Department.

The ad hoc nightclub did not have a liquor license, and there was no certificate of occupancy for the building, officials said.

The patrons were chased off, and two security guards and one DJ were issued summonses for violating city and state executive coronavirus emergency orders and health codes.
